Oil & Gas Valve Applications

Oil & Gas

Oil and gas production involves different valve requirements at the wellhead and throughout the process piping. Equipment interfaces and operating conditions determine which product range is appropriate.

Selection Tip

Wellhead equipment and industrial process valves should be evaluated against their respective equipment specifications. A valve selected for process piping is not automatically suitable for a wellhead duty.

Pipeline Valve Applications

Pipeline

Pipeline isolation requires attention to the valve construction, installation arrangement and maintenance access. FZV offers trunnion mounted, top-entry and fully welded ball valves, together with gate and check valve products.

Selection Tip

For buried installations, consider operating access and extension requirements. Where internal maintenance access matters, evaluate the body construction and the space available around the valve.

Refinery Valve Applications

Refinery

Refinery piping combines isolation, backflow prevention and service-specific sealing requirements. Different units may require different valve constructions, materials and operating arrangements.

Selection Tip

Evaluate the actual process medium and temperature at each valve location. Metal seating, pressure seal construction and material selection address different requirements and should not be treated as interchangeable solutions.

Petrochemical Valve Applications

Petrochemical

Petrochemical processes require valve selection around the medium, operating conditions and required function. FZV offers isolation and control products, including bellows-sealed globe valves and dedicated control valve designs.

Selection Tip

Distinguish on-off isolation from continuous regulation. Material compatibility and stem-sealing requirements remain important for both duties.

Power Plant Valve Applications

Power Plant

Power plant systems include steam, water and auxiliary piping with different operating conditions. FZV’s range includes pressure seal gate, globe and check valves, alongside forged steel and butterfly valve products.

Selection Tip

Select the valve for the specific line duty. Pressure seal products and valves for auxiliary systems should be assessed separately against the required pressure-temperature conditions.

More Applications

Chemical Plant

Valve selection for chemical processing starts with media compatibility, operating conditions and the required isolation or control function.

Offshore Platform

Offshore valve selection must account for the process duty, installation space and operating arrangement. Materials and external protection depend on the project environment.

Gas Terminal

Gas-terminal requirements vary with the handling process and fluid conditions. Cryogenic and non-cryogenic duties require separate evaluation.

Water Treatment

Water-system valve duties include isolation, flow regulation and backflow prevention. Valve selection depends on the water quality and operating conditions.

Marine

FZV’s marine products include gate valves and quick-closing globe valves for specified shipboard piping duties.

Coal Chemical

Coal chemical processes may involve particles and slurry as well as other process fluids. Selection should reflect the medium at the individual valve location.

Start with the Duty, Then Select the Valve

An industry name provides context. The valve’s function and operating conditions determine the next selection step.

Service Requirement Product Range to Explore Key Selection Point
Pipeline isolation Ball Valves and Gate Valves Body construction, line interfaces and maintenance access
Backflow prevention Check Valves Flow conditions, installation orientation and closing behaviour
Cryogenic operation Cryogenic Valves Minimum temperature, materials, seals and test requirements
Pressure seal construction Pressure Seal Gate, Globe and Check Valves Pressure-temperature duty and the selected valve design
Continuous process regulation Control Valves Required control function and process conditions
Remote operation Actuated Valves Valve torque or thrust, utilities and control requirements
Wellhead service API 6A Valves and Wellhead Equipment Equipment specification and connection requirements

These product ranges are starting points for selection. Final suitability depends on the complete service conditions and the selected valve configuration.

Valve Manufacturing Capabilities

Product Options Backed by Manufacturing Capabilities

FZV brings together industrial valve types, cryogenic products, actuated configurations and upstream equipment within its product range. This gives project teams several routes to address different valve duties within a procurement package.

Manufacturing capabilities in Wenzhou and Shanghai include machining, welding and overlay, assembly and valve testing. Material inspection and traceability support the review of specified product requirements.
