Frequently Asked Questions

Technical insights regarding FZV Check Valve selection and application.

How do I choose between a Swing Check and a Wafer Check Valve?
Swing check valves offer a full port design, resulting in lower pressure drop and making them suitable for piggable lines. Wafer check valves are lighter, more compact, and cost-effective, ideal for space-constrained installations, though they typically have a slightly higher pressure drop.
What materials are available for corrosive environments?
For highly corrosive media in petrochemical or offshore applications, we manufacture check valves in Austenitic Stainless Steels (CF8M, CF3M), Duplex and Super Duplex stainless steels, as well as special alloys like Inconel, Hastelloy, and Monel. All materials undergo strict PMI (Positive Material Identification) testing.
Can your check valves prevent water hammer?
Yes. For applications prone to water hammer or slamming, we highly recommend our Tilting Disc Check Valves or Axial Flow Check Valves. Their design allows for a shorter disc stroke and faster closing response, significantly reducing the dynamic impact of reverse flow.
